Tim is an excellent communicator and together with his affable personality make him a fantastic teacher, interpreter and advocate for the deaf community.  I knew Tim through my role as Head of Sixth Form Enrichment at the School in Coventry, where he taught senior pupils British Sign Language (BSL) for beginners.  His approach to teaching BSL is fully immersive and he quickly made a good rapport with the pupils.  His resources were expertly prepared and well suited to the classroom, and he embraces technology to support the learning experience.  Tim tailor made the programme to suit the length of time we had available and pupils were always keen to join his Enrichment sessions.  He was integrated into the school community, being fully DBS checked, and staff and pupils alike knew him and welcomed him into the school as one of their usual teachers.  I recommend Tim most highly for his professionalism and his communication skills as a teacher and advocate of BSL.

I am delighted to be working with Tim Scannell as Rugby School seeks to grow the delivery of British Sign Language to its staff and pupils.  Tim is a pleasure to work with and hugely skilful in his delivery of fun, creative, challenging and effective lessons.  He has been extremely helpful in working with us to set up these new lessons, communicates clearly and promptly.  The groups of staff and pupils are both hugely enjoying his lessons and have been inspired to pursue BSL further in different ways, with Tim's full support
